ASSOCIATE TECHNICAL ARTIST - EFFECTS

Description

The Heroes of the Storm team is seeking a talented, motivated, and support-minded technical artist with a passion for spells, destruction, and special effects.

You will work with technical designers and effects artists to implement a range of abilities and visual effects.  You will find creative solutions to bugs, help artists prototype new ideas, and write tools to accelerate the process.

Our ideal candidate is passionate about crisp gameplay timings, immediately readable visual effects, and tackling technical issues to make both possible.  If you can solve technical problems with art, and art problems with tech, we’d like you to join us in the Nexus.

REQUIREMENTS

• Experience with gameplay scripting in at least one game toolset such as StarCraft II, Source, Unity, or UDK
• Interest and Experience with Visual Effects
• Able to communicate effectively with engineers, designers, and artists
• Proactive in creating solutions, motivated to find, debug, and fix effects issues
• Strong technical background and a positive attitude
• Passion for playing and making computer games, especially game styles relevant to Heroes of the Storm

• Experience with 3ds Max or equivalent 3D content creation software
• Understanding of modern graphics pipelines and shaders
• Knowledge of MaxScript, Python, or C++
• Previous game production experience
• Familiar with version control software such as Perforce, Subversion, or Git
