Ex’pression
College has an opening for an AV Technical Coordinator at our main campus in Emeryville. Ex’pression
College is
an accredited digital arts college. Ex’pression teaches and grants
Bachelor’s Degrees in six programs: Animation & Visual Effects,
Digital Filmmaking, Game Art & Design, Motion Graphic Design, Interactive
Audio, and Sound Arts. Ex’pression utilizes a professional, accelerated
program, where students can earn their degree in just over 2.5 years.
Class sizes are limited to ensure hands-on learning, instructor attention, and
access to gear and equipment. Students learn and work with
professional-grade equipment and studios. Ex’pression College is
accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges
(ACCSC).
Our
intensive Sound Arts (SA) program is looking for a dynamic AV Technical
Coordinator to join our team!
Job Function:
Under supervision of the Director SA, and in direct
cooperation with the Program Director of Sound Arts & Course Directors, the
AV Technical Coordinator manages and oversees all technical aspects of all
class and staff equipment regarding repair, maintenance, and installation of
all electronic equipment at Ex’pression with the exception of computers and
computer related technology as assigned by any of the above managers. The AV
Technical Coordinator is directly responsible for proper and timely communication
regarding all Service Center repair issues, and works with the above
individuals to order and secure parts and repairs, and sees to the timely
repair of broken equipment and new installations. The AV Technical Coordinator
is also responsible for overseing preproduction of Ex'pression Events including
but not limited to Open Houses, Concerts, Ex'pert Series, and Marketing
ventures.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
·
High-level and wide-ranging knowledge of professional
audio and video production equipment, including associated computer systems and
programs such as ProTools, FinalCut, Logic, Apple Operating Systems, etc.
·
High-level and wide-ranging knowledge of: audio studio
wiring, video production equipment, professional lighting and projection
systems, and general products such as TVs, etc. including best-practices for
their install and use.

Ability to perform complex tasks and to prioritize
multiple projects.
·
Knowledge of college personnel systems.
·
Ability to foster a cooperative environment.
·
Knowledge of procurement rules and regulations.
·
Ability to develop and maintain record-keeping systems
and procedures.
·
Organizing and coordinating skills.
·
Ability to analyze and solve problems.
·
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and
in writing.

Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and
generate reports.
·
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the
ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse
community.

Ability to communicate projects and deadlines to staff
as well as ensuring those deadlines are met.

Have a good working relationship with every department
so as to ensure proper and timely communication including but not limited too
scheduling and marketing.

Ability to meet and greet, or hold meetings with
industry professionals and represent Ex’pression in a professional and
inspirational manner.

Ability to perform administrative duties such as
schedules, charts, and course outlines, neatly and effectively.
Requirements:
Bachelor's/Associates Degree in a Related
Administrative, Business, Liberal Arts, or Social Sciences Discipline is
preferred. High School Diploma. Minimum Five years experience as a
Engineer/Technical Engineer at a multi-media facility performing the above
listed tasks on like equipment.
Must be physically able to perform all above duties.
