Description
Bluepoint is
looking for a CHARACTER ARTIST to join our team on a contract basis as we work
on our latest project. Help us remaster
a highly-acclaimed franchise on a current generation console. The work is expected
to take approximately 6 months, with the possibility of extension.
Responsibilities
--
Repaint/reprocess higher quality texture maps from lower-resolution source
-- Apply and
modify current generation material techniques
-- Create
high-quality current generation character models from lower-resolution geometry
-- Model features
which were once represented in texture as geometry
-- Add sculpted
details for use in normal maps
-- Maintain
original character functionality and animation ability
Requirements
-- Knowledge of Maya
modeling tools
-- Sculpting
skills in ZBrush and/or Mudbox
-- Knowledge of
Photoshop for texturing
-- Experience
with Allegorithmic Substance and/or Quixel Suite helpful
--Understanding
of character skeleton and skinning techniques is a plus
--Basic understanding
of game workflows and pipelines
-- At least 2
years of experience in the games industry
-- A portfolio
reflecting high-quality game art
-- The ability to
work onsite at our facility in Austin, TX

Collection), developed original titles (Blast Factor - the first available
downloadable game on the PlayStation Network), and created its own proprietary
game engine (Bluepoint Engine). Our most recently-completed project is the Xbox
360 version of Titanfall.
