Environments Texture Artist
Description
We are currently looking for talented and
experienced artists to create procedurally generated textures. Applicants
should have a strong interest in natural materials, both in terms of their
intrinsic qualities, and the natural processes that affect them. Environments
is a relatively new department comprised of veteran artists from a wide range
of backgrounds, and the role offers opportunities to learn a great deal while
having real input into look development on large scale assets and locations.
Responsibilities:
* Look development of palettes for large-scale materials including earth, rock,
concrete, etc.
* Look development of palettes for vegetation materials including bark, leaves,
grass, etc.
* Efficient and accessible organization of node-based palette descriptions
* Visually compelling generation of procedurally-driven and hand-painted mask
* Collaboration with other Environments texture artists to achieve effective
and consistent results
* Collaboration across disciplines within the department, including modeling
and matte painting
Required Skills:
* Ability to work closely with both artists and production
* Ability to convey and incorporate ideas across multiple disciplines
* 3+ years of applicable experience in feature film, games, or similar
* Professional experience with Mari
Desired Skills:
* Experience with Maya, Photoshop, Photoscan
* Exposure to Linux/KDE
* BFA or equivalent in Painting, Photography or similar
* Interest in landscape painting, underwater photography, etc.
