UI Designer

Carney Labs is looking for a creative and detail oriented UI Designer who is an energetic, independent self-starter, to join our team! 

The role of the UI Designer is to assist in the creation and production of the look, layout, flow, and features of our web and mobile applications. Collaboration with corporate product development and sales/marketing strategies will give the candidate the opportunity to expand their duties and grow their career.

The candidate must be able to work on-site in Alexandria and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to define and implement innovative product solutions
• Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, mock-ups and site maps
• Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity to complex processes
• Execute and present intuitive visual designs from concept to development
• Ability to solve complex problems creatively and effectively
• Proactively provide and seek out feedback

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years of Web and Mobile UI experience
• Proficiency in Adobe Suites: Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap and JavaScript
• Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies
• Demonstrable UI design skills with strong portfolio
• Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-centered design and interactions
• Ability to present designs and solutions to the development team and management
• Solid experience in creating information designs and visual comps

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors in Interaction Design or related is preferred
