General Summary
This is not your ordinary Desktop System Administrator
role. We're looking for a Linux and MacOS X guru to provide critical IT
support for all phases of production, working closely with VFX animators,
producers, artists and administrative staff. Passionate creatives.
You'll solve production problems and increase efficiency with your Linux and
MacOS expertise. Regardless of where you are working, we are interested
if you have experience performing the essential job functions and meet the
requirements for this hard-to-fill role.
Essential Job Functions
· Deployment and support of
desktop computers, peripherals and applications.
· Operation of help desk
software/queue management system.
· Organize and track
technology assets for production deployments.
· Full scale user
management including new hires/transitions.
· Provide the highest level
of technology support for the production process.
· Effectively communicate
policies to end users.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in
relevant area of study or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· 3+ years experience
supporting Linux, and MacOS X desktops.
· 3+ years experience
supporting common productivity applications.
· Prior experience working
with Active Directory or LDAP infrastructure.
· Solid understanding of
TCP/IP and common network protocols.
· Experience with
automation tools such as imaging, configuration management, etc.
· Thorough understanding of
PC and Mac hardware.
· Excellent troubleshooting
skills as well as escalation management.
· Experience with Microsoft
Windows a plus.
· Experience with shell
scripting and/or Ruby a plus.
· Experience supporting
Maya, Nuke, Houdini, and/or Renderman Studio a plus.
