Position: Senior Set Designer
Reports
to: Art Director
/ Director

Position Description and
Responsibilities:
·
To explore and present the visual
direction for environments/sets and props as a means to provide the roadmap for
the storyboard team during visual development and pre-production while meeting
the highest of quality, aesthetically and technically
·
To assist with visual exploration and/or
research of design as required by production for any Toonbox projects intended
for theatrical release
·
To partner with Director/Art Director (CG
Supervisor and Technical Team, if required) to help ensure aesthetic goals are met in the most efficient manner
·
To collaborate with the Director/Art
Director to explore and develop colour design as required by production or the
studio
·
To work collaboratively with other
departments, such as the Story Team, to support their needs as determined by
the Director/Art Director
·
To ensure file management and archiving
of art work is maintained throughout the course of production
·
To maintain awareness of the broader
show needs as they relate to aspects of art and design and related revisions
·
To assist in the creation of visual
direction for characters/environments/props for use by various asset departments
within the pipeline
- To gather
suitable reference material from various sources
- To produce
concept art, schematics, layouts, as well as clean orthographics (if
required)
- To revise work
per Director’s/Art Director’s feedback
- Provide creative
input where appropriate
- To work in
adherence to budget and schedule constraints while maintaining the show’s
overall look and mood
- To troubleshoot
creative and technical issues as they arise as requested by Art Director
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

A strong understanding of design and the
issues inherent in creating characters, sets, props, vehicles, lighting setups,
and render styles for a 3D CGI feature length production, worthy of a
theatrical release
·
Must have strong 3-D and 2-D character
modeling, and creature design experience
·
Must have worked on at least 2-3 titles
·
Must have extensive experience in
multimedia content – film and television work an asset
·
Must possess excellent communication,
interpersonal, and multitasking skills
·
Proven abilities in conceptualizing,
organizing, and managing projects from concept to completion
·
Ability to create a positive,
productive, and exciting work environment through his/her own ability to
inspire others
·

Salary: Yearly: min. $55000 max. $65000 for 40.0 hours per week
