Animator
Description
The Visual Arts Services Group is a division of SCEA's
Product Development Studio that specializes in Animation, Motion Capture,
Cinematics, Art and Scanning. We are currently looking for a Facial/Body Animator to assist us on various PS4 projects.
Responsibilities:
- Will contribute to the aesthetics, toolset and workflow for keyframe
character animation production
- Animator will be creating hand key-framed animation for humans to be integrated into in-game engines and/or cinematic sequences,
for both body and face
- Responsible for spearheading the artistic creation of in-game and
pre-rendered animation
- Communicates with Supervisors, Managers and Project Coordinators to update
them on status of animation
- Will be working closely with all members of the Motion Capture, Rigging and
Animation teams
Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of Maya
- Experience working with Motion capture is preferred
- Must have a strong rapport with the animation leads and programmers to
maintain and enhance quality of data
- Some familiarity with video game product development including, but not
limited to workflow, tools, in-game 3D animation, motion capture, rigging,
character skinning, scripting, cameras, cinematic animation and setup, and
engine parameters/compression/optimizations desirable
- Strong aesthetics of character animation and movement required strong
pre-production skills desirable, including but not limited to Thumbnailing,
Storyboarding, 2D and 3D animatics
- Must be able to share and evaluate other people's ideas to facilitate
multiple solutions
- Basic communication, organizational, time management and interpersonal
skills
- Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts or equivalent
