Environments Matte Painter
Description
We are currently looking for talented
and experienced artists to create high end matte paintings. Applicants should
have a strong visual aesthetic rooted in classical training, complemented by
technical proficiency with projection work. Environments is a relatively new
department comprised of veteran artists from a wide range of backgrounds, and
the role offers opportunities to learn a great deal while having real input
into look development on large scale assets and locations.
Responsibilities:
* Development of sequence-wide projection set ups to provide coverage across
multiple shots
* Development of single-shot "one offs" to quickly and efficiently
complete less complex shots
* Integration of both photographic and rendered elements to achieve photo-real
results
* Efficient and accessible organization of complex 2.5 and 3d set ups for use
by other artists
* Collaboration with other Environments matte painters to achieve effective and
consistent results
* Collaboration across disciplines within the department, including layout and
lighting
Required Skills:
* Ability to work closely with both artists and production
* Ability to convey and incorporate ideas across multiple disciplines
* 3+ years of applicable experience in feature film, games, or similar
* Professional experience with Nuke, Photoshop, and Maya
Desired Skills:
* Experience with Vray, Vue, Arnold, Renderman, as well as Mari, Terragen,
Zbrush, etc.
* Exposure to Linux/KDE
* BFA or equivalent in Painting, Photography or similar
* Interest in landscape painting, underwater photography, etc.
