Our training teams in London
and Singapore work with the business to deliver training programmes that
develop and upskill employees, which is vital in contributing towards the
success of the company.
Duties of the Global Head of Training:
This is an exciting role for
someone who will take responsibility for the success of our global
training team and strategic direction of training in the business. The ideal
candidate will have solid experience delivering global
training programmes with a strong technical bias and managing
teams.
The training team is currently
made up of three trainers in London and one trainer in Singapore, with training
supervisors for each discipline across the business that help shape the
training programme. Double Negative is opening offices in Vancouver and with
this the team has potential to grow as the training needs of each office
diversify and become more demanding. The current team are responsible for
training in technical areas across the business, and this demand will increase
with the expansion of the business and the requirement to train new staff in
our pipeline, approach and processes. There may also be a requirement to liaise
with HR in the roll out of in house training in soft skills and project
management or to look using external trainers to deliver these programmes. The
successful applicant will be responsible for the strategic development and
support of these and other projects.
Main Responsibilities:
Set a vision and a strategy
to work as an aligned training team across all office locations and ensure
operational consistency across processes and service offerings.
Be the training expert and
provide high quality training solutions to the business.
Partner with and manage
trainers in global offices to plan, formulate, agree and deliver the strategic
training plan in a timely manner to ensure we reach all employees with
necessary training.
Analyse and provide feedback
to improve programs, processes, procedures and/or systems to ensure alignment
and maximise effectiveness of training programmes.
Undertake reviews and compile
data to measure and report on the effectiveness of training programmes. Based
on findings, formulate potential solutions and/ or process improvements.
Be proactive in ensuring that
the training plan is forward thinking and scalable to support growth.
Work with key administrators
and trainers to ensure all training is appropriately documented to provide
secure online training transcripts and that the training ‘library’ is managed and
kept up to date.
Use and improve on existing
training tools available both in house and externally.
Liaise with the COO, CTO,
Heads of Department and Trainers to determine and prioritise training
requirements.
Manage the training budget
and report on costs .
Network externally and keep
abreast of current and future learning trends.
Qualifications and Skills:
University degree.
5-6 years experience in a
Learning and Development/ Training specialist role in a global or complex
organisation environment.
Commercially astute with
procurement, negotiation skills.
Creative and pragmatic
problem solving.
Worked with senior
stakeholders and can influence at senior levels.
Successful experience in
planning, coordinating and communicating training and development programmes.
Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills.
Well networked within the learning
industry.
Strong analytical and process
skills.
Experience in Visual Effects,
Games or a similar industry favourable.
