Gameloft, the largest
mobile-gaming development studio in Montreal, is seeking a Backup/Data
Administrator to join its Global Network Services (GNS) team.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities
The successful candidate
will provide support, and management of, backup systems as well preparation and
recovery/replication procedures for large data storage systems. The position requires solid experience
working with tape backup systems and hardware.
The position also requires an excellent knowledge of databases as well
as knowledge of multiple file storage types and storage methods.

Responsible for the gathering/documentation of backup
requirements, installing, configuring, and testing of backups (and restores) in
a high availability enterprise system
·
Monitoring of backup jobs across multiple
platforms
·
Perform routine recovery scenarios and tests
·
Maintaining, documenting, and improving
backup and data related procedures, policies, and standards;
·
Working with various department team leads
and staff to analyze and resolve backup and data recovery problems;
·
Working with backup systems and tape libraries;
·
Possibility of providing 24/7 (on-call)
support for servers and systems.
Requirements
·
Two or more years’ experience with Symantec
NetBackup;
·
3 to 5+ years with hands-on production
datacenter experience with servers and tape libraries
·
Experience with data deduplication and
replication an asset;
·
Demonstrated experience with various storage
systems (SCSI, iSCSI) as well as distributed file systems;
·
Strong interpersonal and communication
skills - ability to communicate in
English and French essential;
·
Ability to work independently and to manage
priorities;
·
Strong organizational, and planning skills essential as well as good
analysis methodology;
·
Strong documentation skills;
·
Ability to work under stress and in a
24x7x365 production environment is essential.
