We’re looking for a Pipeline Technical Director to work closely with production, department leads and IT to develop and maintain a Toon Boom Harmony animation pipeline. You’ll be the point person for Harmony in our facility - establishing studio wide procedures for design, builds and rigging, troubleshooting scenes, creating processes for Maya and Harmony integration and anything else that we can think of that has the word Harmony in it! This is a pivotal role which requires expert knowledge of Harmony with serious experience in the production of animated television series.

Responsibilities Include:

• Supporting the overall needs of production, pipeline and toolsets;
• Overseeing the development, maintenance and optimization of tools used in production;
• Acting as a primary support for technical problems in the production department;
• Providing technical solutions to artists and supervisors, working closely with the animation crew;

• Working with R&D engineering and programmers to resolve digital production asset management issues that may arise during production;

• Managing the production pipeline integration with the production tracking and asset management system;

• Maya asset integration into Harmony scenes;

• Developing documentation and implementing training/mentoring to enhance skill-sets of current crew;
• Collaborating with production supervisors to plan and establish methodologies that meet or exceed the requirements of each production.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience in a Toon Boom (Harmony, Storyboard Pro) network, client-server pipeline environment;
• Sound technical knowledge of Toon Boom Harmony SDK and scripting capabilities;
• 2+ years of experience in Maya;
• Knowledge of After Effects, Nuke, Flash, and Qube! is an asset;
• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Animation or a related field desired;

• Able to take direction and work collaboratively with a positive attitude;

• Able to communicate ideas clearly and concisely, to anticipate hurdles and problem-solve;

• Well organized and efficient, able to juggle shifting priorities;
• Strong work ethic with the ability to meet performance objectives within a fast-paced production environment.
