Junior Controller/Senior Accountant

Description

Our Company is currently looking for a bright, highly organized and resourceful Senior Accountant or Junior Controller to work in a growing multi-company environment and who can easily integrate into established systems. Reporting to the CFO, the successful candidate will be expected to learn quickly, multi-task and communicate clearly. The ideal candidate needs to be a team player with a positive attitude and someone willing to help out where needs are identified.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily accounting process including AP, AR, payroll & regular tax filings
- Prepare and communicate cashflow reports & quarterly financial statements
- Prepare and communicate production and departmental cost reports with appropriate departments
- Assist with annual budgeting process
- Evaluate cost benefit analysis of various projects, including tax credit estimates and spot funding report analysis.
- Provide recommendations for management to improve efficiency
- Supervise and mentor accounting team
- Monitor internal controls and prepare for annual working papers
- Prepare annual financial statements and reports
- Coordinate year-end activities with accounting firm, including Canadian and US Tax filings
- Other duties and responsibilities as required of a Junior Controller at the discretion of the VP Finance. 

Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be CMA, CGA or CA (or equivalent experience) with previous experience in the animation, film & entertainment industry. You will have excellent communication skills, thorough knowledge of accounting and previous experience with Excel, QuickBooks, and industry-specific production software such as PSL, VISTA & EASE.
