Mental Canvas is developing a breakthrough technology that defines a new digital graphical media that fills the gap between 2D drawings and 3D models.

The core technology, originally developed at Yale University by a research team led by Professor Julie Dorsey, is the basis for a suite of commercial applications.  The company is currently building partnerships with major design, advertising, and media firms, publishers, and tablet manufacturers.  Mental Canvas is backed by a private, family investment office and highly competitive National Science Foundation Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Awards, which fund "transformational technology with high technical risk and potential for significant societal or commercial impact."  The company is located in the SoHo neighborhood of New York City and along the Connecticut Shoreline.

Mental Canvas is looking for experienced developers to help advance our unique vision of drawing in the digital age.

Requirements:

- BA/BS in computer science or other technical discipline
- 2+ years of professional experience
- Enthusiasm for and broad knowledge in 2D and 3D graphics
- Knowledge of Java, C++, and OpenGL
- Game development experience a plus
- Advanced understanding of object-oriented programming fundamentals
- An ability to write-clean, fast code that other people can easily read and modify
