CG Supervisor
Description
Award-winning
animation studio Axis Animation creates stunning animation for some
of the world’s leading names in Games, Commercials, Broadcast and
Film. Founded in 2000, the studio prides itself in producing high
quality innovative animation from their base in Glasgow, Scotland.
Recent
works include the episodic Halo: Infinity for Halo 4, game trailers
for popular titles such as Dead Island 2, Crackdown, Alien Isolation,
Fable Legends, as well as various film, television and commercials
work in conjunction with sister studio Axis VFX.
Currently
Axis are expanding their Senior team and are seeking an experienced
CG Supervisor to join them in a full time capacity onsite in Glasgow.
The
CG Supervisor will oversee 3D Projects and provide technical and
artistic leadership for the 3D teams working on next generation game
cinematics and commercial animation projects.
Providing
a project resource with in depth technical execution knowledge to
partner the project director and project producer in managing the
clients product. It will provide greater clarity in terms of
ownership, reporting and responsibilities whilst driving a project to
completion.
The
ideal candidate will
be able
to
demonstrate
the ability to participate as a leader and hands-on contributor
through all stages of production.
Candidates
are required, and must be eligible at time of application, to work
on-site in Glasgow.
Responsibilities:
Provide
creative and technical solutions on an on going basis throughout a
project which deliver to client and internal quality expectations
but also drives commercial results for affordable and profitable
projects.
Filter
diverse feedback from both client and Project director to members of
the team.
Work
closely with coordinator to drive the project team to meet schedule
objectives.
Work
closely with Project producer to evaluate project estimations as the
project develops.
During
the pre production phase work with the director and producer to help
define and refine the creative requirements of the project so they
can be technically achieved within budget.
Identify
strengths of team members best suited to certain tasks and set tasks
for the team
Troubleshoot
project specific problems as they happen to support the team.
Review
the work of the team working on the project.
Communicate
and liaise with department leads to arrive at efficient, cost
effective solutions best suited for the project
Professional
Requirements:
A
minimum of 3
years of leadership
experience on
CG/VFX productions
Bachelors
in Computer Science or comparable professional experience
Strong
working knowledge of 3D software,
preferably
including
Maya,
Houdini
and Fusion
A
strong creative portfolio and showreel
Demonstrable
understanding of the full CG pipeline
A
strong, measurable track record in delivering against project goals.
Personal
Requirements:
Excellent
problem solving skills
Ability
to successfully delegate, mentor and manage people and projects
Ability
to give help and advice to junior artists
Previous
experience with team management and task assignment.
Deadline
driven with strong management skills
