Technical Artist

Idol Minds is an independent game developer that has been creating fun and innovative games for the past 17 years.  We are currently in development on multiple mobile titles and are seeking some talented artists to join our team.

Requirements:

• Build and troubleshoot character rigs for real time game assets
• Solve technical production issues
• Work with art leads to streamline art workflows and pipelines by developing tools/scripts/plugins to help speed production
• Excel as a team player and strive to maximize team/department performance
• Ability to be proactive and anticipate potential problems before they occur
• Excellent work ethic, self-motivation, and is able to accept constructive criticism and art direction
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a technical artist in the game industry
• A reel showcasing your best rigging and tool development work
• Proficiency with Maya
• Excellent skills with Python and Mel
• Experience creating real time rigging assets
• Experience creating and troubleshooting facial animation rigs
• Proficiency with the Unity game engine a plus
• Animation skills a plus
• VFX experience a plus

Idol Minds is an independent game developer located in Colorado between Denver and Boulder next to the Rocky Mountains.  We have an experienced, close-knit team with exceptional technical, artistic and design skills.  We’re currently growing, with multiple titles in development and two running in live operations.  Our current focus is mobile, but we’re also expanding back into the console game space.
