The Cinematic senior producer drives the management and execution through to delivery of multiple
Cinematic pieces for one or two game franchises and smaller projects. Production processes include pre-rendered
animated content, real-time game engine content, 2D motion graphics, and other
production pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Translates
creative vision into business and logistical actions that define the schedule
and budget for cinematic pieces to support the game franchise and marketing
efforts.
- Partners with
the directors to deliver high quality creative content while maintaining
execution focus.
- Drives the
production and delivery process for assigned Cinematics.
- Responsible
for establishing all schedules for assigned Cinematics.
- Responsible
for setting budgets, tracking actuals and implementing solutions for financial
accountability to those budgets.
- Must be able
to “smell smoke” for significant project risk and be able to drive solutions
across the team to head off challenges before they occur.
- Proactively
develops rising stars, mentors senior talent and anticipates skill gaps on the
art and production team.
- Is
accountable for planning and continually improving the full scope of a
Cinematic production to mitigate studio level risk, including producing, art, post
production and the day-to-day business and logistical needs of a visual FX
/ animation piece.
- Ensures the
timely availability of resources, crew and equipment and partners with other
show producers to balance resource contention, communicating issues to the senior
production department manager, and elevating issues to the production director as
needed.
- Helps to
improve production goals, standards and policy for production and develops
policy that improves Cinematics as a whole.
- Significant
level of communications with game team leadership and Cinematic leadership
required.
- Must be
comfortable speaking in front of large teams and presenting to executives.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years’
experience as a production manager or producer of animation content or game
cinematic content
- Exceptional
verbal and written communications skills
- Strong
understanding of budget and project management principles
- Able to
facilitate and mediate between members of the art, production and engineering
teams
- Unrelenting
self-motivation and initiative
- Passion for
movies and video games, particularly Blizzard games
- Expert
knowledge of Excel
- Bachelor’s
degree
Pluses
- Experience in
an animation studio or outsource house
- Knowledge of shotgun
production tracking software
- Level 60+ in WoW
