CGI Supervisor

ADMIN• After initial contact with client occurs with Sales Exec, CGI Supervisor works with Traffic Manager and client to figure out needs for
quoting/estimating purposes
• Works with CGI Artists to establish amount of work required for projects in order to quote
• Oversees CGI Traffic Manager to ensure scheduling needs, timelines are met, establish priorities, and revise schedules according to
active projects, new project specifications, and availability or capability of department.
• Monitors resources, throughout each day, and delegates work priorities based on fluctuations in schedule and shot progress
• Manages Traffic Manager to determine the render queue and reviews previous night logs for deviance on a daily basis
• Establishes and implements efficient pipeline using previous experiences as benchmarks and makes adjustments to such based on
strengths and opportunities for improvement
• Make Traffic and Sales aware of changes in scope of work and revised estimated hours necessary to complete work.
MANAGEMENT• Facilitates production needs of every team member
• Primary authority in department and disciplinarian
• Works with Studio Manager to maintain team morale / provides incentives
• Oversees training of new team members
• Conducts one-on-one training with team members
• Reviews reels and recommends artists for interview
• Attends interviews / interviews candidates
• Recommends candidates for hiring, in consultation with Studio Manager and project leads
CREATIVE• Acts as final set of eyes on outgoing work
• Maintains high standards of photo quality CGI throughout different phases of department
• Following CG elements from concept through to final comp, overseeing all elements created by the CG team
• Monitors shot continuity in all aspects of quality control, including final color-correction for timely delivery
• Involved during initial sales call representing technical assistance as well as creative vision
• Encourages growth through training and experience
TECHNICAL• Fluent in 3ds Max, Nuke, Maxwell, Mental Ray and V Ray and has familiarity of other 3d, CAD and render softwares
• Able to provide technical assistance to different links in production chain
• Is a leader in the department from a position of knowledge and experience
• Able to explain to clients and sales our process, advantages of different techniques and better way to accomplish goals
• Helps leads and crew develop "one-off" techniques as necessary
• Tests new techniques and technology as necessary
