Academic Design Strategy Manager
The Office of Information Technology (OIT)
is seeking an experienced Academic Design Strategy Manager.
This position provides leadership among campus units that offer
educational technology support, and specifically within OIT’s Academic
Technology Design Team (ATDT). It works closely with
faculty members and other design professionals to solve indeterminate teaching
and learning problems by applying technologies and design principles to
curricula, syllabi, and instructional modules.
This position advocates for design thinking among the ATDT and with academic technology support
groups on campus. It manages the media, usability, and universal design
services within OIT.
This position is facile at a variety of design specialties and is able to
integrate and synthesize those design specialties when applying them to
learning problems.
Qualified applicants will have a bachelor’s degree in graphic
design, industrial design, architecture, environmental design, rhetoric,
cognitive psychology, computer science emphasizing human-computer interaction
or artificial intelligence, organizational development or other closely related
filed; one year of experience managing at least one employee; one year of
experience working on a team that produced materials designed to help clients
or customers learn; and six month’s experience engaging with indeterminate
design problems.
