Description
Are you interested to help lead Intel's execution and delivery of computer graphics; to manage a Software Graphics development team and coordinate between hardware, software and platform teams? The Visual and Parallel Computing Group (VPG) Graphics Software team develops drivers and related product technology for Intel's processor graphics products. As the Engineering Manager for graphics software, your role will be to lead a cross-component, cross-site development team, represent the product status with key stakeholders, and drive problem resolution to meet the product success criteria.
The successful candidate will lead a cross geo engineering team responsible for developing and validating the Intel Graphics software for Core features, including Kernel Mode Driver (KMD), Power Conservation features, and Graphics Memory Manager, for Windows and Android. Responsibilities include all aspects of SW development and ISV enabling aligned with Intel's latest platform capabilities. He/she will provide leadership, coaching and guidance for the engineering team managing all phases of development and validation to ensure best of class deliverables. In addition, this candidate will be responsible for driving strategic direction and developing the organization capability of the team to best deliver on long term needs. Additional responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Successfully working across Intel business units and external key stakeholders to guide product requirements, platform intercepts, shape direction and align team deliverables accordingly
- Ensure delivery against PLC milestones and requirements by driving accurate assessment of technical requirements and resourcing, coordinating and communicating with stakeholders, monitoring project milestones, relevant indicators and driving regular project reviews.
- Focus on continuous improvement for the team driving organizational capability and high performance for continued success in delivering valued technology for Intel.
- Manage all aspects of planning including budget, capital, headcount
The successful candidate must be comfortable with international travel and time skewed work days required for effective interaction with international development teams. Candidate must also have good verbal and written communication, strong presentation skills with the ability to present complex issues with clarity to drive decisions are a must.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have a BS degree with 6 years' experience or a MS degree with 4 years' experience. Degree should be in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science. Experience and proficiency should be related to software development and leading engineering teams with the following qualifications:
- This self-motivated candidate must demonstrate the ability to effectively work with cross geo teams of software development engineers, QA and product validation, marketing, legal and support teams as part of managing the overall team deliverables.
- Experience working in systems (hardware/software) product development teams
- Experience in applying project management methodologies and tools within the software development lifecycle
- This candidate must have a thorough knowledge of business practices and procedures necessary to effectively manage all aspects of the team and be proficient at engaging in management/leadership development programs aimed to raise the capability of the organization.
- Strong attention to technical detail, data analysis and problem solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with graphics, video and/or display technologies such as DirectX and DVXA
- Experience in producing software development project indicators
- Experience in C and C++ software product development
- Graphics industry familiarity / business acumen
- Windows, Android/ Linux device driver architecture, development or validation; program management (software lifecycle) processes and tools; competitive awareness and analysis of relevant technologies
