Business Analyst - Cinematics
Description
The cinematics
business analyst combines significant experience in the strategy and business
analysis of screen driven entertainment with a passion for, and understanding
of, interactive content and emerging media platforms. This role will be
responsible for helping the production director maintain and expand financial controls
and metric data reporting through the department and will be required to assist
in strengthening current cinematic operations while simultaneously helping the
department prepare for production of alternative form content and the push into
original, differentiated, and animated programming.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and
analyze monthly operating reports.
- Assist in
the preparation of departmental forecasts and long range plans including annual
operating plan.
- Manage the
continued development of budgeting, forecasting, operating plan, and modeling
tools in a project based model and ensure the accuracy of information reported
to Blizzard Entertainment’s finance team.
- Manage
departmental data collection and budget reporting and develop and maintain
historical information.
- Layer expert
analysis and insight on top of data to support recommendations and be able to
relate them to entertainment industry trend data.
- Support
management team and department heads with ad hoc analysis and reporting.
- Assist in
preparing presentations and supporting materials for management.
- Assist
management, as appropriate, with distribution strategies, contracts, and other
entertainment related business.
- Assist with
production focused operational and logistics management tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Master’s degree
in business or related areas, or equivalent work experience
- Highest
standards of accuracy and attention to detail in a dynamic, multitasking
environment
- Understanding
of current and emerging entertainment related business models
- Strong competence
in analyzing data and drawing actionable business insight
- Knowledge of
entertainment industry financial reporting standards and terminology
- Demonstrated
ability to roll up sleeves and work in a hands-on capacity
- Team player
capable of communicating and collaborating in an artistic environment
- Able to make
presentations to executive leadership team
- Advanced
proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
