Software Engineer, Pipeline - Cinematics
Description
Blizzard Entertainment cinematics is
seeking a talented software engineer to work in our R&D Pipeline team. Our
mission is to improve the communication, efficiency, and happiness for artists
and engineers within the cinematics department. This team focuses on the
department asset system, production tracking, software build / deployment, and
related tools.
This is a full-time, staff position
at our office in Irvine, California.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain software
libraries used by the rest of the department.
- Communicate with artistic
departments to improve existing tools and create new solutions to production
challenges.
- Create and maintain tools for
software builds and deployment.
- Support internal web applications
for asset management and production tracking.
- Discover and train others on best
practices.
- Identify and resolve pipeline
issues and discover opportunities for improvements.
Requirements
- Passion for tools development
and tool chains
- A minimum of 3 years’ of Python
experience
- Experience working with build
systems (any of Scons, Make, CMake, waf)
- Attitude geared towards helping, supporting,
and training others
Pluses
- Experience with film / television
VFX or CG animation pipelines
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science,
computer engineering, math, related field or equivalent work experience
- Strong investigation and debugging
skills
- Experience with the following
technologies:
- Git
- PyQt or PySide
- JavaScript / HTML5
- Jenkins
- Shotgun
- SQL
- C++
- Linux systems
