Assistant Professor in Data Visualization

Description

The Department of Visualization at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level beginning August 2014 with a specialization in Data Visualization. Minimum qualifications include a terminal degree (PhD or equivalent) in information science, human perception, interaction design, statistics, or a related field, with a strong quantitative background. Specializations of particular interest include innovative methods, theory and tools for visualizing information generally and for understanding the role of visualization in cognition and problem solving specifically. Strong consideration will be given to candidates with demonstrated research and teaching experience in one or more of the above mentioned areas.
