Description
Gameloft, a
leading international publisher and developer of digital and social games with
offices in 30 countries including Europe, North America and Asia, is seeking a 3D Game Programmer to join our Toronto
Studio.
Previous hit
games such as The Oregon Trail, Modern Combat 4, Brother in Arms 2,
N.O.V.A., Avatar, Dungeon Hunter, Despicable Me: Minion Rush, Assassin’s Creed, Terminator Salvation,
Asphalt 8, Let’s Golf!, and Order and Chaos are just a few of the 300 games Gameloft
has created since it was founded.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Programming in the relevant technical languages
(C, C++, Java);
- Analyze, adapt and optimize existing 3D
functions to current standards;
- Support 3D functions and systems required for
game production;
- Program tools necessary for use by other
developers;
- Collaborating closely with the game designer as
well as the graphics teams to determine various game constraints and establish
each element.
Skills and Profile:
- Strong programming skills in C/C++;
- University degree in Computer
Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience;
- In depth knowledge of 3D programming (OpenGL or
DirectX);
- Minimum 4 years’ professional experience with
iOS, Android, Consoles or PC;
- Good understanding of gaming consoles/devices and
their constraints;
- Understanding of free and commercial game
engines;
- knowledge of 3D Studio Max (or other 3D
software);
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
to meet tight deadlines;
- Ability to optimize code size and speed to
maximize the capabilities of each platform;
- Ability to program in a methodical and
structured manner;
- Good communication skills and ability to work in
a team.
