Modelling Supervisor

Description

We are currently looking for a Modelling Supervisor who is available in August.

You will be working closely with a variety of departments; including R&D, Art, Rigging and Surfacing. 

The following skill and experience will be highly regarded:

• 3 years experience in a supervision or lead position on feature films and/or animated features.
• Experience with managing, mentoring and training a large team.
• Providing creative and technical team leadership in Modelling.
• Providing creative and/or technical feedback to crew.
• Providing crew and production management support.
• Interest in pipeline, process, tools and techniques with a high level understanding of industry standards, conventions, formats and common practice.
• Contribute to the planning and execution of production work.
• Bidding of the modelling effort required for characters, props and environments.
• Working closely with a production supervisor to develop and manage a department schedule.
• Interest in 'set dressing' and experience with large and complex CG environments.
• Ability to translate approved 3D sculptural form or concept art into production ready geometry.
• Strong experience with photo realistic and hard surfacing modelling.
• Technically aware of the requirements of rigging.
• A good understanding of the needs of surfacing and an ability to provide good UV layouts.
• Ability to follow a brief and produce complex models to a high standard with a thorough understanding of shape, scale and form.
• Production experience using Maya, Z Brush and/or Mudbox.
• Experience with other software such as 3D coat, Speedtree and Vue would be an advantage.
• A strong understanding of the topological requirements of subdivision surface for both static and deforming models.
• An understanding of proper edge flow and polygon density.
• Ability to provide topology and turntables examples.
