The Maps team is looking for a talented and passionate software engineer to contribute to the iOS Maps application, a cornerstone of Apple's mobile platform used by hundreds of millions worldwide. Along with excellent skills in object-oriented software design and programming, the successful candidate will have experience developing sophisticated user interfaces in Cocoa Touch. Excellent communication skills are a must, as you will be collaborating closely with other engineers and human interface designers to add new and innovative features.

Description:
As an engineer on the Maps team, your primary responsibility will be high-level UI development, but you'll often find yourself working at different levels of the stack in order to pull off challenging features. You should feel comfortable moving fluidly from daemon and network programming to framework and application development.

You'll be maintaining and improving not just Maps, but also its supporting frameworks and Siri and SpringBoard components. You'll also be responsible for debugging and delivering the best possible application performance. We are a small team in which every engineer has an enormous impact on the product we ship. To succeed here, you'll need above all to be passionate about creating a map browsing, search, and navigation experience that is the best of its kind.

Key Qualifications:
•Strong object-oriented programming and design skills
•Experience at the application and user interface level
•Some familiarity with Cocoa development
•Passion for product quality and attention to detail
•Excellent communication skills


Education:
BS in Computer Science or equivalent

Additional Requirements:
• Extensive experience with the iOS SDK and Cocoa development
• Deep understanding of graphics technology
• Some ability with design tools for prototyping purposes
• Experience with and a passion for maps and navigation
