The Maps team is looking for a talented and passionate software engineer to develop for CarPlay, Apple’s next generation platform for in-car computing built atop iOS. Join us in bringing innovative car navigation and location technologies to the world as you work on the Maps application and frameworks for the car. The successful candidate will have ample iOS development experience as well as a passion for crafting an unbeatable driving experience.

Description:
As an engineer woking on CarPlay Maps, your primary responsibility will be high-level UI development and architecture of the CarPlay Maps application, and you will work closely with designers and engineers across the company to add new features and build the very best in-car experience. You’ll also be working on the frameworks and plugins that enable Maps to integrate deeply and seamlessly with parts of the system such as Siri and SpringBoard.

To meet these demands, you’ll need to be a fantastic iOS developer deeply familiar with UIKit and CoreAnimation, able to debug with great proficiency, and ready to eek out the best-possible application performance using a variety of tools and techniques. Building for this nascent platform will often require developing new abstractions and novel designs, and an aptitude for crafting both user and developer interfaces will also serve you well.

Key Qualifications:
•Strong object-oriented programming and design skills
•Strong experience with Cocoa Touch
•Passion for product quality and attention to detail
•Excellent communication skills

Education:
BS in Computer Science or equivalent

Additional Requirements:
• Extensive experience with the iOS SDK and Cocoa development
• Experience with and a passion for maps and navigation
• Familiarity with in-car software development
