2.5D Compositing Artist (Temp) - Cinematics
Description
The Blizzard Cinematics team is seeking a seasoned compositing
artist who has had production experience in 2.5D workflows. We’re looking for someone with the
understanding and passion to make our shots epic by jumping into work within
Blizzard’s imaginative worlds. If you’re

Responsibilities
- Design and layout character, FX, and environment artwork
for shots within the comp that meet and enhance the given art direction using a
compositing toolset.
- Maintain the overall look, color balance, and quality for
assigned shots and sequences to create uniformity in all finished work.
- Fully understands and is comfortable in an “iteration
intensive” shot pipeline.
- Work with FX department for integrating and developing FX
elements.
- Working closely with visual effects supervisors, producers,
and the lighting / compositing supervisor to achieve the desired look.
- Ultimately responsible for bringing shots to final.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years’ in the feature film or commercial
production environment as a compositor
- An advanced knowledge of Nuke including its 3D toolset
and Photoshop. Knowledge in Maya, Linux,
and After Effects is a plus
- Able to determine best approach to solve the compositing
challenges and develop final overall look
- Good communication skills to work closely with a lighter,
matte painter, or 2D artist on shots
- Able to perform all tasks associated with compositing,
including 2D tracking, layering of complex elements, color grading, roto work,
projection of elements and 3D components
- Accountable for meeting productivity and quota targets
Pluses
- Experience in working in both a live action and full 3D
Animated Pipeline
Portfolio Requirements
- Provide a demo reel and shot breakdown sheet
- Demo reel should display a firm artistic understanding
