GRAPHIC DESIGN INSTRUCTOR

Rio Hondo College seeks an instructor for a full-time, tenure-track position in Graphic Design, housed within the Visual Arts Department.  The successful candidate must possess a comprehensive understanding of the principles and techniques of graphic design, have an extensive knowledge of the digital design process and industry standard software, and be experienced in the business aspects of the commercial art and digital media industry.  The successful candidate should be conversant with and able to teach Adobe design software and be able to learn and teach new programs as they become available. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a multiple-station, Macintosh digital media lab.  In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to collaborate with the studio arts, art history, digital animation, and film/video faculty to develop curriculum and programs, take part in campus-wide committees, and promote the college in the community.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
A MA or MFA in Graphic Design, Digital Media or related field, professional experience in the field of graphic design and digital media, and a history of teaching at the college level are desirable.
