Work on a corporate level across product lines while ensuring consistency for Brand identity. Collaborate with all departments to assure successful implementation of packaging solutions for accessories, graphics card products, gaming devices and other consumer electronics. Integrate effectively into a multidisciplinary group and propose package designs considering high volume manufacturing techniques and work with various groups to implement. You will produce 2-D and 3-D concepts and 3-D mockups to illustrate design direction and packaging details.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Independently develop and design complete packaging systems, and potential new concepts at the highest level of technical expertise using a variety of materials.
- Efficiently develop and present appropriate, engaging and structural packaging concepts, with particular emphasis on product quality, cost and out-of-box experience.
- Present designs to management.
- Modify and refine designs as needed.
- Create structural packaging die-lines for production artwork.
- Research production specifications, costs, production materials and manufacturing methods, and provide cost estimates and itemized production requirements.
- Research, test and mock-up designs as required to support development of creative concepts to satisfy structural requirements and specification needs.
- Confer with engineering, marketing, production, or sales departments, or with customers, to establish and evaluate design concepts.
- Direct and coordinate the fabrication of samples and prototypes and create specifications.
- Manage DFMA for all designs with manufacturer.
- Create packaging CMF and cosmetic specifications.
- Coordinate the look and function of product lines.
- Develop manufacturing and test procedures.
- Develop standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Perform FAI at the manufacturer.
- Manage final test and required documentation for P-release.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficient with 2-D and 3-D CAD software.
- Knowledge of packaging manufacturing processes and materials for consumer electronics including plastic, paper and foam.
- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the company and have organizational project management skills.
- Bachelor?s degree (B.S.) in Packaging / Industrial Design or related technical field from four-year college or university is preferred; or 8 or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently in a fast paced environment.
- Strong leadership and strategic thinking ability.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work, contribute and lead in a team environment.
