Senior Finishing Artist
Description
Blizzard Entertainment is looking for an exceptionally skilled finishing artist (lighting / compositing) to join its in-game cinematics team. The ideal candidate needs to demonstrate an understanding of how light, shadow, and color create environmental tone and mood, and possess a thorough understanding of the needs of visual storytelling. This position requires a creative and technically proficient approach to composite shot development based on personal vision and existing / established properties.
Responsibilities
- Work with the project director, art leads, and other technical artists to create a compelling finished look for a variety of environments, while maintaining a consistent style throughout the game.
- Anticipate different production constraints with various composite / lighting techniques and understand the budgeting restrictions associated with them.
- Create, maintain, and communicate documentation for look guidelines and implementation techniques.
Requirements
- Advanced proficiency with Adobe After Effects, particularly color grading, compositing, and 2D lighting techniques
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a compositor, and / or lighter
- Self-motivation, good communication skills, and a great team-player
Pluses
- Have shipped AAA PC or console titles as a lighting / composite artist
- Familiar with other compositing packages, such as Nuke
- Familiar with 3dsmax, Maya, Photoshop and 3rd party lighting tools
- Experience lighting real-time, and / or pre-rendered film or animation
- Strong illustration or photography skills
- Passionate gamer with experience playing a wide range of games
