Sr. Network Engineer
Description
RAVEN SOFTWARE, developer of numerous award-winning
games, including contributions to the blockbuster Call of Duty franchise [Black
Ops, Modern Warfare 3, Black Ops 2, Ghosts] is seeking a passionate Senior
Network Engineer to join our team to work on our next project.
Job duties include:
- Develop,
design, modify, optimize and debug networking and related engine systems
- Deploy,
evaluate performance and test software on PC client and Linux server platforms
- Collaborate
with other internal Activision studios providing networking services and
software
- Document
software and features for internal and external engineering teams
- Participate
in the scheduling, design, performance and code review process
- Develop
systems for accurate analytic tracking of networking performance and quality
of service
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's
degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Math related field
- Shipped
at least two game titles
- 5+
years of experience working with networking technology in the game
industry
- Proven
ability to collaborate, schedule and communicate with other engineers
- Experience
with client-server architectures within games
- Extensive
background with Internet performance issues like packet loss, latency and
bandwidth
- Fluency
with TCP/UDP protocol layers
- Background
with parallel programming and threading
- Technical
understanding of hardware that makes up the Internet infrastructure
- Strong
math and statistics skills
- Familiarity
using network simulators for debugging
- Experience
with working with networking services like PSN, Xbox Live, or Steam
- Comprehensive
understanding of object-oriented programming
- Passion
for networking, troubleshooting and optimization
- Creative,
motivated, focused, passionate, results-oriented
- Demonstrated
ability to write efficient, clean, readable, portable, and reliable code
- Team
player
The ideal
candidate will also have:
- Experience
with database technologies and web protocols
- Background
in networking security issues
- Master’s
degree with some emphasis connected to networking
- Experience
with id Software’s idTech3 (Quake 3 or derivative)
- Experience with web and cloud services
