Description

Using an excellent sense of lighting, perspective and color, the Matte Painter is responsible for the creation of photorealistic or figurative environments and elements to be integrated into live footage or created scenes.

Skills and requirements

• 7+ years of experience working as a Matte Painter
• Ability to create photorealistic and figurative environments
• Working knowledge of 3D production pipelines
• Mastery of Adobe Photoshop, XSI, Maya, Nuke, Shake and willingness to learn new software as necessary.
• Good understanding of color, lighting, perspective
• Thorough knowledge of matte-painting techniques including colour space, digital-paint techniques, photography with an emphasis on composition, depth, lighting and colour
• Complete work within the schedule while maintaining constant communication with production team and leads
• Task driven, self-motivated and proactive
• Good ability to problem solve and trouble shoot technically
• French language knowledge, written and spoken
  
• Curiosity and desire to improve matte painting skills
