Tools Engineer (Senior or Lead)
Description
At Bungie, we have a
large team of artists and designers creating the content for our games, and
they have correspondingly high expectations of the tools they use every day to
do this. The Content Tools team is passionate about building high quality, cutting-edge
software and workflows for them to create the next great game. This includes
world editors, shader graphs, object authoring, and all that’s needed to bring
content from a creative person’s head into the game.
You will collaborate
closely with teammates from all over the studio to bring ideas to life. From
building user interfaces to manipulating 3D meshes to wrangling data formats,
this position involves a breadth of technology and feature areas almost unheard
of elsewhere in software development.
We’re looking for an
awesome, versatile candidate who loves to build things. Our platform is
primarily C# on WPF interacting with our game engine in C++, supported by a
pile of technologies and patterns such as the Reactive Extensions, MVVM,
DirectX, IoC, async/await, and many proprietary bleeding-edge in-house systems.
If you’re an expert in any of these buzzwords, great! Regardless, we expect
that you are a master of the technologies in your own experience, and that this
has prepared you to learn, adapt, and grok what we are doing, and drive us to
the next level.
Required Skills
- Programming master

- Strong personal time-management skills; capable of
working in an open environment with regular interruptions for customer
service needs
Nice-to-have Skills
- Previous game development experience
- Bachelor's degree or demonstrated equivalent experience
