Gameplay Engineer

Piranha Games has an opportunity for Gameplay Engineer to join our
growing Engineering team for. In this position, you will have the chance
to design game features and collaborate with a group of talented
individuals. This is an ideal role for someone who is looking for new
challenges and a chance to work with a dynamic team of talents.
What you will be doing:
- Design, write, prototype, debug, and refine gameplay features, mechanics and tools
- Create systems and features in the areas on animation, AI, physics and other gameplay related disciplines
- Attention to product quality, scalability, performance, and security
- Evaluate effectiveness of designer and artist workflows and make game system or tool improvements accordingly
- Profile and make appropriate game system optimizations for speed, memory, or bandwidth
- Provide ongoing support, improvement, and debugging for existing features
- Collaborate with Game Designers and Artists to integrate their creative ideas into the game
- Anticipate, identify and articulate technical and developmental risks and obstacles, and generate solutions
- Become an active participant in shaping the success of the team
- Other ad-hoc responsibilities as requested
What you will bring with you:
- A minimum of 3 years of game programming experience, preferable in the video game industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or a combination of education and relevant experience
- Demonstrated extensive proficiency in and knowledge of object-oriented programming in C++
- Superior analytical and problem solving skills
- Highly motivated and self-driven
- Capable of working with little instruction to resolve demanding tasks, as well as work with internal teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
What we consider as pluses!
- Experience working on multiplayer games
- Experience working with Scaleform or CryEngine 3 is a big plus
- Experience working within Agile Game Development methodologies
- A passion for games!
