The Senior Software Engineer will apply extensive technical expertise towards software solutions of complex technical problems and provides solutions that require the regular use
of ingenuity and creativity. Work is performed without appreciable direction and with considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment.
Position Responsibilities
The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for providing leadership in the
development of cutting edge products used in the medical field. Specific tasks include:
- Designing, developing, testing and documenting software components and applications.
- Leading requirements gathering, estimating, and planning efforts
- Interfacing with mechanical, electrical, systems, and test engineers
- Troubleshooting, debugging, maintaining, and supporting existing software products
- Supporting labs and surgical evaluations of products
- Representing the company at industry trade shows and customer sites
- Participating in and leading on-going professional development activities
- Following Medtronic Navigation product development standards and practices.
- Identifying and implementing process improvements
- Willingness and ability to assume increased responsibility
- Effectively leading development teams
- Occasional domestic and international travel may be required
- Performs other related duties as assigned
