Description
The
College of Architecture and Design at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT)
invites applications for a full-time tenure track appointment in the field of
Industrial Design (ID). Successful candidates will operate at the intersection
of design and technology and will possess a compelling research agenda
concerning important questions related to the future of the field. It is
expected that candidates will hold a terminal degree in industrial design or a
related field and will have a command of, and active investment in, a range of
current and emerging technologies. Candidates with agendas relating to
interactive technologies that involve a range of disciplines are especially
encouraged to apply. Applicants will be evaluated on their potential to develop
a combination of peer-reviewed scholarly and creative work while also
contributing to the culture of the College through teaching and service
activities.
NJIT
is a research institution in the Northern New Jersey/New York City Metropolitan
Region with strong ties to local business and industry. Candidates will be
responsible for teaching design studios, required courses and elective courses,
and be an active participant in, and contribute to the future of, the program.
Candidates should have a body of creative work that may include exhibition,
production, and /or publications.
In
their cover letter, applicants should explain their research interests, the
reasons why these questions are important, and the means by which they hope to
pursue them.

teaching at NJIT College of Architecture and Design
2) Brief Statement of Intent
3) Detailed résumé
4) Portfolio of professional work, educational
