Responsibilities
The Designer, ESPN.com’s editorial team, contributes to the design and design production of the leading sports web site. Working under the supervision of the Art Director, Designers are responsible for the look and feel exploration, conceptual and visual development as well as the final execution of design directions. This important role requires broad knowledge and advanced skills in visual design and illustration, user interface, web standards, and a solid understanding of available client-side technologies. Qualified candidates will share our belief that design is as much about behavior and emotion as it is about utility and ease of use. They are responsible for the development of interface designs, typography, and page layouts for web packages and other interactive media.

Other key aspects of the job: Participates in developing the look and feel of ESPN’s brand, marketing, positioning and competitive strategies for assigned properties; typically is assigned to editorial-driven design packages; Applies some ingenuity, creativity and analytical and organizational skills to identify and evaluate alternatives and to develop or participate in developing aspects of ESPN s brand strategy and of marketing initiatives for assigned site pages / sections of the ESPN.com sites; Train and manage direct reports.
