Multimedia Computing Support Specialist
Description
Kenyon College seeks a Multimedia Computing Support Specialist to
provide technical support for desktop and laptop computers, mobile
devices, applications, printers and other peripherals, and related
technology. This support includes, but is not limited to, installation,
testing, troubleshooting, routine maintenance, ad hoc training, and
researching new support methods. The Multimedia Computing Support
Specialist focuses on support for multimedia applications, especially
digital video, audio, and image tools for both academic and
administrative purposes.
This position will:
1. Provide individual support for faculty, staff, and students on computer training and troubleshooting issues.
2. Participate in planning, scheduling and executing computer equipment installations, upgrades and replacement projects.
3. Load and deliver new computers, including assisting users with migration of necessary data and programs.
4. Provide individual instruction in technology skills for faculty, staff, and students.
5. Support the multimedia computer labs in Art, Music, and Drama,
and individual computers with multimedia applications in faculty and
staff offices and in the library.
6. As appropriate, participate in LBIS teams, which address issues cutting across internal and external departmental lines.
7. Work with student employees and train them as required.
8. Stay informed of developments in the profession, including higher
education and technology generally. Stay aware of professional
literature and activities of professional organizations.
9. Develop technology guides and documentation for users.
10. Provide group instruction in technology skills for faculty and
staff in all areas of the College, and the Kenyon community at large.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
