User Research Manager - 2K Games
SUMMARY:
Manage the growing User Research team at 2K
games and set the course for how 2K does User Research for the future. Work
with our all Production, Development and Marketing teams to ensure User
Research is providing the best data and best workflows to build world class
software across multiple platforms.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the team
that plans all our internal (on-site) and external (using a third party
vendor) user tests. This involves:
- Determining the
best ways to conduct player recruiting
- Ensure we have
the correct process to gather research requirements
- Organizing and
leading meetings with project stakeholders
- Scheduling
participants and budgeting incentives
- Assisting in
the development of user testing plans
- Budget
forecasting, per project, the overall user testing (internal and
external) costs.
- Managing and
occasionally executing internal and external user tests. This involves:
- Directly
observing participant gameplay and behaviors
- Surveying
and/or interviewing participants
- Video capturing
participants
- Developing
extensive results reports for delivery to development teams.
- Help establish a
unified analytics approach for all of 2K Games
- Representing user
test results to the Production and Development teams.
- Providing
heuristic reviews for multiple, simultaneous projects
- Managing user
testing lab including part time staff and equipment maintenance.
- Managing and
updating individual budgets per project as it relates to user testing
(internal and external) costs.
- Documenting and
updating best practices for the department.
- Liaising with
external vendors to coordinate recruit participants and setup research
venues
- Occasionally traveling domestically and internationally to assist in international user and focus testing.
