Director – Method Studios Melbourne
Method Studios is an award-winning
visual effects and post production group that offers strategic and creative
services dedicated to the local and international advertising community.

We offer editorial and colour
grading alongside design and concept-art, digital visual effects and animation,
stereoscopic production and compositing.
Method Studios Melbourne has an
exciting opportunity for a highly experienced and credentialed Design
Director to creatively manage their team of talented motion designers.
Overseeing all design-focused production
work that runs through the department, you will provide the creative leadership
and strategic direction for the department to build on superb creative results
and grow the development of the business.
Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
* Inspire a culture of creativity amongst the
team and in the approach to all projects from pitch to delivery.
* Ensuring that all Design work is completed to
the highest standard.
* Leading the creative and pipeline performance
of all team members including creative and professional development, performance
appraisals, developing career pathways, and advising on technique, process
and performance improvements.
* Ensuring that working processes (pipeline,
file storage, documentation etc) are efficient & adhered to by the
Design team.
* Ensuring that the Design Department is aware
of trends and improvements in techniques and technology that are relevant
to the business and making recommendations.
* Quality control and improvement of
departmental output.
* Maintain communication and relationships
between Design and other departments within the wider group of Deluxe
businesses.
* Along with the Design Producer, making sure project budgets are
consistent and adhered to.
* Along with the Design Producer, line
management of the Design team.
* Along with the Design Producer, being an important point of contact
for clients, ensuring a respectful and constructive dialogue with clients
to best enable the development of the most effective design solution and
to promote a high level of assurance and competence with regard to any
creative communication sought.
* Developing expertise in specific areas as required.
* Promoting a positive, open, learning environment with firm cultural
ties to the wider art and design community.
This is a
hands-on role as well as a supervisory position; as such a clear demonstration
of your technical ability with motion design software (After Effects, Cinema4D,
Adobe CS), a terrific creative portfolio showing a range of styles and
techniques, and an explanation of your processes, is essential to being
successful for this role.
