THE SCHOOL OF FILM AND ANIMATION at RIT:
The College of Imaging Arts and Sciences offers programs in Art, Design, Crafts, Film and Animation, Photography and Media Sciences. The School of Film and Animation presents a curriculum developed by our faculty, students and successful alumni that is rooted in a shared passion for filmmaking. For over thirty years we have been preparing writers, producers, directors and the creative specialists for successful careers in the feature film, network/regional television, independent film and non-broadcast industries.

Students of SOFA are encouraged to develop their own personal vision and independent work while they develop the skills needed to fulfill any creative or technical role in our profession. We are a creative community where students discover their unique potential, explore their talents, experiment with ideas and express their message to the world.

Detailed Job Description     

We seek an active artist dedicated to the education of filmmakers and animators. The candidate should demonstrate substantial aptitude in all forms of character and experimental animation, particularly in traditional 2D computer techniques and technologies.

The candidate will be expected to cover a full teaching load consisting of both undergraduate and graduate courses in animation history, film design, and 2D production methodologies and processes.

Responsibilities also include student advising, assistance in curriculum development, and maintaining a high level of expertise in current trends, methodologies, workflows and software developments in the professional community, as they relate to the current curriculum.

RIT offers a unique opportunity for non-tenure-track Lecturer positions, including possibilities for advancement within the School of Film and Animation.
