ABOUT THE ROLE
Disney
Mobile is looking for a Creative Director to join our Palo Alto development
team focused on creating new and compelling mobile and social experiences to
bring to market. You will work directly with the Studio Director and across the
entire Studio overseeing creative and design for all our games.
Disney
Mobile, a division of the Disney Interactive, is a leading mobile gaming and
entertainment network, reaching more than one out of every 3 iPhone, iPod touch
and iPad users. Disney branded apps,
including platinum titles Where’s My Water? and Where’s My Perry?, bring the
magic of Disney stories and characters to life in new ways on mobile
devices. Disney Mobile’s Palo Alto-based
studio creates top-selling music and social apps including Tap Tap Revenge,
which is one of the most successful gaming franchises on the iPhone platform.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the design team
Develop & establish a consistent design process
throughout the studio
Generate
new ideas and proposals for mobile games.
Creating compelling and successful mobile experiences should be your
specialty.
Concept
and balance core game mechanics like economy, progression, and rewards.
Take
concepts from 1-pagers to complete game design documents with the help of a
team (designers, artists, producers, developers, etc.)
Design
and prototype new gameplay and systems and direct development of player
experiences, user interface and tutorials.
Participate
in the strategic decision making around the future of the mobile game business.
Research
trends and competition continually and alter your suggested approaches in our
games to incorporate advances and innovations you find in the field.
Engage
and partner with other business units on A/B and focus group testing to gather
user data.
Document
ideas, concepts, and technical designs in a format that is approachable by all
team members.
