Program Coordinator/ Day Instructor

This unclassified position requires a bachelor’s degree
5 years of field experience in the digital media fields preferred
Knowledge and/or experience with higher education teaching in digital media preferred
Demonstrated experience with Maya, Nuke, Unity as well as other professional graphics applications required
Hours
40 per week onsite M- F (day time) including any needed class prep time.
Work some evenings in to over see aspects of the evening program preferred.
Description of duties
The
Ideal candidate will have a broad background in the Digital media
fields as well as some teaching experience. A demonstrated background
with a broad range of industry standard animation visual effects and
interactive software toolsets and technology via work examples is
required.
Program Coordinator and Day Instructor teaches
all classes in a manner that will promote academic excellence to the
fullest extent. Provides instruction in the intensive DMC program model
consisting of lecture and guided lab periods up to 30 hours per week.
Assists with maintenance of student records and digital files and assets
related to the program. Prepares any needed curriculum and maintains an
orderly classroom. The Coordinator
also assists with ensuring all curriculum and associated materials are
complete and ready for use in both program sections. This position also
calls for 10 hours per week of administration time for coordination
duties for the DMC program.
Assists
with the on going development, evaluation and revision of operational
policies and procedures and curriculum within the DMC program. Maintains
any required office hours. Advises and counsels students as needed.
Recruits students to all programs within the Digital Media area at LSU
Shreveport. The Program Coordinator
also oversees day-to-day operation and coordination of the evening
instruction section with the evening instructor through regular meetings
and communication. Attends any needed DMC section meetings and
promotional events. Prepares and collects regular student feedback logs
grades and submitted student work and also assists with post program
tracking and any required reporting as well as student placement
counseling. The Coordinator also prepares quarterly written progress
reports to the DMC director on both the day and evening section.
The
Program Coordinator and Day Instructor also assists in keeping track of
any IT related issues and reports them in a timely fashion to the DMC
Director and support staff.
