Senior Compositor

General Summary

A Senior Compositor at Laika is responsible for refining hero looks and helping other artists achieve that look across a sequence. They should have excellent communication skills and be able to explain complex technical and creative processes to a wide range of audiences, from supervisors and production management to mid-level & junior artists.

Essential Job Functions

• Combine live action, stage and cg elements into visual effects shots that realize the vision and creative direction of the directors and visual effects supervisor. 

• Proactively communicate with vfx supervisors, production management and technical directors to help shots stay on schedule.

• Able to address notes quickly and offer their own creative variations to give supervisors a range of options to choose from.

• Equally comfortable working independently and in a collaborative group.

• Create elegant and reproducible solutions to challenging VFX sequences.

• Possesses enough knowledge about software tools to be able to provide practical suggestions on improving workflows or creating new ones.

• Accountable for meeting productivity and shot quota targets.

• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
