The Department of Computer Information Technology & Graphics (CITG) at Purdue University Calumet in Hammond, Indiana invites applications for a tenure-track entry-level faculty opening in Computer Information Technology & Graphics at the assistant professor level. The position will commence on August 13, 2012.
Job responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, a 4/3 teaching load (with a possibility for course release); participation in departmental, School of Technology, and University committee work, ongoing engagement in discipline related scholarship, and a strong interest in course and curriculum development.
Applicants must have an earned PhD degree in Computer Information Technology or Computer Graphics Technology or a closely-related field from an accredited university by the expected date of hire of August 13, 2012.
Individuals with teaching experience in the areas of foundational aspects of computer graphics, digital simulation, visualization, game design, programming, and applications development and related business experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
The CITG Department currently has over 350 students and nine full-time faculty. The department offers two Baccalaureate degree programs, B.S. in Computer Information Technology (CIT) and B.S. in Computer Graphics Technology (CGT). The CGT program has electives in Computer Animation and Video Games, Multimedia and Design & Web Design. The Department provides an excellent teaching and learning environment equipped with state-of-the-art hardware and software.
