Role Summary/Purpose
The Sr. Visual Designer works within a cross-functional product development team to help create and optimize software interfaces by applying expertise in graphic design and user interface design best practices. The Sr. Visual Designer will work closely with Visual Designers, Interaction Designers, UX Researchers and other team members to bring interaction models and wireframes to life and provide mockups and visual assets for development. Essential Responsibilities
•Design original artwork – including iconography, navigation and other visual interface elements.
•Create paper prototypes using the Adobe Creative Suite of products for review internally and externally.
•Mentor members of the Visual Design team, coaching them to always seek out extremely creative visual solutions that disrupt the status quo.
•Create annotated visual designs and specification documentation to be used as guides by Front-End Developers and Engineers as they build out the interface.
•Create and manage a library of visual resources that will be used consistently across all products and platforms
•Translate usability research findings into visual design improvements.
•Work with Front-End Developers and Engineers to ensure that visual integrity is maintained throughout the product development cycle.
•Be an expert resource of interface design techniques, brand guidelines and usability best practices.
Qualifications/Requirements
•Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field of study
•7+ years of experience working as a Visual Designer on interactive projects
•Demonstrated understanding of design considerations and heuristics surrounding multi-platform deployment – from mobile to desktop to10-foot UIs.
•Expert-level experience in Adobe Creative Suite
•Online portfolio demonstrating excellent typography, iconography and interactive design fundamentals.
