Visiting Instructor - 3D Modeling and Animation
Description
Drexel University’s Digital Media Program, in the College of Media Arts & Design, announces a visiting, full-time faculty position for an Assistant Teaching Professor with an emphasis in 3D Modeling, Animation, and Visual Effects. This contract is for Winter Term (January 9 through March 24), and Spring Term (April 2 through June 15) of the 2011-2012 academic year. The position requires instruction of three courses in winter term and three courses in spring term, three days of availability on campus each week, and additional service to the program, which could include technical supervision of the labs or advising of students on extracurricular projects. Each course runs in a 3-hour block, 1 day a week, for 10 weeks plus finals week, with a maximum of 16 students.
Course possibilities include foundational modeling, surfacing and lighting courses; an animation foundation course; an advanced animation course covering rigging, particles and dynamics; a compositing course; and a seminar course on the future of digital media. Exact courses will be based upon the successful candidate’s skill sets.
