ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN GAME DESIGN/DEVELOPMENT CAHSS-41-11-036
Full-time, entry-level, tenure-track faculty position.
Department of Art and Design, College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences,
University of Wisconsin-Stout.
Starting: August 2011
RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach three studio courses each semester which may include beginning, intermediate and advanced game design/development classes (animation, game design, video/sound design and digital imaging) and foundation classes. Contribute to a rigorous learning environment with willingness to use traditional, alternative and digital delivery methods. Demonstrate organizational skills, collegiality and leadership skills. Provide academic advisement, as well as curriculum development and service to the department, college and university. Engage in professional research. Pursue outside funding. Perform other duties as designated by Chair.
Preference given to those with knowledge of contemporary issues as they relate to game design/development, creative and artistic excellence as demonstrated through an active exhibitions and/or professional level accomplishments in the discipline.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• M.F.A. In Art or Design with an emphasis in Game Design/Development or equivalent terminal degree in
visual arts, with an emphasis in digital media, required
• Ability to teach in a dual digital platform environment
• Evidence of teaching potential
