Director of Development

Description

• Supports product development by working with department leads and management to coordinate the production process.
• Determines and manages production schedules and milestones involving product development.
• Works closely with the department leads and management to continuously assess risk to keep the scope of the project in line with the budget and schedule.
• Update the project schedule and report the status on a weekly basis.
• Ensure that team members are working from tracked schedules.
• Foster positive working relationships, teamwork, and communication within the development teams.
• Help develop and/or write production processes and specifications.
• Manage Development staff and Leads to ensure that project needs are effectively communicated and addressed
• Identify the need for and recruitment of critical talent
• Oversee the management of multiple complex projects concurrently, including review and feedback of project scope, requirements, and analysis.
• Allocate and track resources for project and needs; communicate status to management.
• Provide hands-on mentoring in areas such as requirements analysis, project management, communication skills, organization skills, leadership skills, etc.
• Review, comment and approve milestone submissions
• Budget management against individual product P/L's
• Interact and negotiate with talent, creative and agents relating to feature film, TV, and publishing in coordination with Manager of Rights & Clearances and Legal
• Write and hold performance reviews
